The Northeast Conference on Science & Skepticism (pronounced “nexus”) is a science and critical thinking conference held annually in New York City. NECSS welcomes leading scientists, educators, activists, and artists who educate and engage conference attendees through individual presentations, panel discussions, and performance pieces. Leighann Lord was the emcee for the in person conference for three years.
"NECSS 2017 was obviously a spectacular event, and it was made even more spectacular with Leighann's presence and energy.
She was able to engage with a crowd full of awkward geeks in a way I had never seen.
The weekend was valuable for the skeptical movement and I think her contribution throughout the event was priceless."

"Our MC Leighann Lord injected warmth and humour into her role. Not only did she keep her ship on a steady course, she was also paying attention to the presentations and later commenting on points raised with the audience. This to be a credit to her and the convention."
RS
"Leighann Lord was the penultimate MC, and I think added more to the event than I ever thought possible. All the feedback I heard from the audience was unanimously positive. I am really looking forward to next year."
SL
"Leighann's wit and positivity was infectious, and we couldn't have been more pleased!"
