I had a lot of fun doing a comedy show last night for an attentive, intimate, properly socially distanced audience at SUNY Upstate Medical.
After the show I talked with a couple of first year med students. I am in awe. Some would say this is the worst time to go into medicine given all that’s going on. But given all that’s going on, maybe this is the best time.
It reminds me of when I started Standup. It was the unofficial year of the comedy bust. It was the worst time to start doing standup and yet I’m still here. I’d like to think that there’s something to be said for that. Maybe the hard times make the best people.
About My Shoes: I had originally planned to wear a pair of really cute high-heeled boots. But my feet, which have been essentially residing in slippers since March, said, “No, Boo. We’re not doing that tonight. You’re gonna have to make it work in these Converses.” These boots got me to and from a comedy tour in the Middle East. And now to and from Syracuse.
About My Duster: I try to entertain on many levels.
About My Material: I believe in this picture I am explaining how watching Governor Cuomo’s daily COVID briefings have taught me that upstate and New York city are in the same state. Who knew.
