After the week I’ve been having (month, year…), It was wonderful to get on stage in a beautiful theater, Appell Center for the Performing Arts, and just rock out.
What made it extra special was that my Sorors (Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. - Northeast Region Sorors) rolled out and supported me! The laughs were great but the post-show hugs were even better. I almost cried when a Soror hugged me and whispered in my ear and said “Are you OK?” I said, “I will be.” And she hugged me even tighter. That’s love. That sisterhood. That’s just what I needed. Hell, somebody even jumped behind the table to help me sell books! WHAT!❤️ A special shout out to Soror Sherry Washington for reaching out and coordinating tonight. Thank you for making sure I felt the sisterhood I need. So, what am I learning? How do you survive/live with grief and loss: by continuing to live, love, and laugh. Thank you all for helping me to do all of that. I think I owe you guys a co-pay. :-) Comments are closed.
