![]() I came home from a four-day business trip to find that my parents' refrigerator had stopped working. All the food was spoiled. On the bright side, this was an opportunity to clear out the mystery meat from the 90’s and the green cheese. (At least I think it was cheese.) The bad news is My Dad, who’s finally on board with having a strange man come to the house to fix a major appliance (this wasn’t always the case as in episode four of the People with Parents podcast) was none too keen seeing food thrown into the garbage. For every two things the home attendant and I threw away my Dad was pulling something out of the bag to check for himself. "This is still good isn't it?" "The moldy sandwich? Um, no." I don't know if it's the residual effects of childhood poverty or adult-onset pack rat-ism (that now, strangely encompasses food) but I do know that this old age obstinacy is working my last good nerve. Note to self: grounding somebody only works if they want to go somewhere besides the grocery store. #RollReversal #FamilyFightClub Comments are closed.
