I'm not a foodie but, Cali! Boo! Can we talk? You got me straight twisted up in the game over these Chinese restaurant salt and pepper pork chops! They're probably bad for me, but they taste so good. I'll take the hit to my blood pressure for an occasional plate of this scrumptious delicacy. Luckily, I'm one of those Black Folks with low blood pressure. Although this current administration is working hard to change that.
During a check-in* convo with my Dad he said, "Of course California has the best Chinese food. They're closer to the source." Father knows best, right. (*My Parents still think that when I'm traveling and I call the house that I'm checking "in" instead of checking "on" them. Oh, how things change, ready or not.)
In a brief moment of geographic arrogance, I really thought New York City had the best Chinese food. But seriously, how can that be if I can't get salt and pepper pork chops anywhere in the five boroughs? (Hit me up if you know different.)
And to my Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters: you have no idea what you're missing. Okay, maybe heart disease, but you don't have what you can't afford to get diagnosed, right?
I really hope my doctor isn't reading this. You know, the one I won't have if the current administration has its way.
