Thanks to Skeptical Inquirer Presents for the opportunity to host its online lecture series. Tonight was Sean B. Carroll: A Series of Fortunate Events. My big takeaways were:

• Mutation is a feature not a bug.
  
• Chance is the source of all innovation.
  
• Always look on the bright side of life.

That last one is pretty tough for the Queen of the Glass Half Empty Society, but I’m trying.
