It was a bit of a schlep, but it was worth it! I had a wonderful time on and off stage at Vince Valentine's Comedy Night at Villari's! I enjoyed working again with Eric Potts. I can't believe it's been more than a year since we shared a stage at Brew Ha Ha with Gene Morris! (Dude, you totally should have been there.)
I think Kevin Israel and I could STILL be talking about the joy of audiobooks. I too consider it "reading." (And Kevin, don't forget to check to see if you can get free audio's at your local library using the Overdrive app. Soooo cost effective. Given the price of audiobooks, it might be cheaper to have a drug habit.)
It was an unexpected treat to work with newbie comic, Sophia! How new? Only 16 years old and just her second time on stage. "Cheese grater!" Hilarious! (You had to be there.) Oh, to be bitten by the comedy bug so young. But then again, weren't we all. :-)
When I got onstage the audience was warm, receptive and amazing! The time just flew by! Quiet as it's kept, that's how it should feel.
Post show was fun too. The music was cool and although I'm sure the restaurant wasn't zoned for this, a few of us danced like it was Ladies Night at the Club! Someone shouted, "Leighann, don't encourage them!" Encourage? I was just trying to keep up. For me it was like a post show Zumba class!
And the anniversary year just keeps on rollin'!
