I have the honor (and responsibility) of being one of five women on the “Because I Am A Girl” panel with women who have achieved success in primarily male dominated fields. The panel will be moderated by, Ronnie Eldridge, a pioneer women’s rights advocate. I am paneling with:
SAMANTHA DAVIS - Chef (and former oncology researcher) DR. NIECA GOLDBERG - Cardiologist, Women’s Health Pioneer ROCHELLE “ROCKY” JONES - The First Female Battalion Chief of the NYC Fire Department DR. SUSAN ROBERTS - Head of Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute The event will focus on the importance of education (shockingly 62 million girls are NOT in school) and providing girls with the tools them need to learn, lead, and thrive. Because I am a Girl is an initiative of Plan International USA that is transforming the lives of marginalized girls in Burkina Faso, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sierra Leone, and Vietnam, through its multi-sectoral programs that include education, keeping girls free from violence and sex trafficking, and also programs that are teaching boys about gender equality. See You There. Comments are closed.
