![]() My Dad needs a new calculator. That's because he has the first one they ever made. It runs on a nine-volt battery. A what? You heard me: A nine-volt battery. When was the last time anyone (besides an accountant) used a calculator that wasn't an app on their phone? So rather than run around town on a 20th-century scavenger hunt I simply ordered my Dad a new calculator from Amazon. I hope they'll blow the dust off of it before they ship it. This is so going to screw up my future Amazon searches for a while: "If you like calculators, maybe you'll like an Abacus.” If you or someone you know is dealing with the adult child/parent role reversal, then subscribe, listen, and share my podcast, "People with Parents.” It’s available on iTunes, Stitcher, & Google Play! If your organization is looking for a keynote speaker to talk about the caregiving work/life balance, shoot me an email: LeighannLord@gmail.com. I give a funny and informative talk on “Parenting Your Parents.” We make them parents. They make us people: crazy people.
