The name of my blog is a nod to the nationally syndicated humor columnist Erma Bombeck who died before her time. Her stories about motherhood and domestic life in the suburbs had me laughing all through childhood. As a stand-up comedian I’m not exactly the domestic type. I’m more of a workaholic, control freak, perfectionist who sweats the small stuff. I think of myself as an Urban version of Erma, ergo: The Urban Erma.
